I am directed by the Elder Brethren to acknowledge

the receipt of your letter dated 17th Instant, forwarding

a Medical Certificate relative to the eyesight of A. Baird,

Light Keeper, Hong Kong, and enquiring the opinion of this

Board as to whether, in the face of the Certificate, Baird

can be regarded as fit to discharge a Light Keeper's

duties.

In reply I am to acquaint you that, having regard to

the nature and terms of the Medical Officer's report on

the case, the Elder Brethren would consider Baird as fairly

competent to perform his duties for a further term of
